(Song I-Chen)
In Magritte’s The Son of Man, a hovering apple obscures the figure’s face, exploring the tension and distance between the visible and the concealed. In this collaboration, that veil is reimagined as a Taiwanese endemic species—the grass owl. Living along open grasslands and the edges of farmland, the grass owl moves quietly and is rarely seen. As one of Taiwan’s uncommon and threatened birds of prey, it symbolizes forms of life that are often overlooked, yet undeniably present.
